Freelancer Takeover: Daniel Igbinyemi on his favourite book and the best advice he has been given.

Meet Daniel Igbinyemi, a fashion photographer and videographer. We had a chat with him about his experiences as a freelancer and creativity.

Always Create: What’s the best advice you’ve ever gotten about freelancing?

Daniel: The best advice I've been given is to never undervalue yourself, generally speaking as a freelancer we always welcome new business, but if you find yourself compromising with your rates, it's probably a sign that it's not the right job for you.

AC: What’s your favorite book and why?

Daniel: Who you are is defined by what you're willing to struggle for - This is one of many great life quotes from my favorite book ' The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A F**k by Mark Manson.

AC: What has been the hardest experience you’ve had as a freelancer and what did you learn from it?

Daniel: Not going with your gut feeling! Ultimately a client has booked you based on your work. If you over think the job and start to complicate things i.e. lighting setup you may run the risk of losing that client/job.

AC: What’s your form of creative self care? (What you do to create for yourself and keep your creative juices going)

Daniel: Great question, my form of creative self care is surrounding myself with a creative collective. It keeps me competitive but also gives me honest critique and great assistants and reassurance.

AC: What’s your favorite thing about Always Create?

Daniel: A great thing about Always Create is connecting creators with jobs without the creators having an agent.
